Video Deconstruction Exercise (Group Work)

As a group, try to deconstruct the following commercials based on the guidelines for the analysis of video ads. In about 100 words, explain how the commercial uses Colour, Size, Creative Words and other techniques to "sell" their products...

The groups sitting on the right side of the computer lab is to attempt the "Whatever, Anything" commmercial while the students sitting on the left side of the computer lab is to attempt the "M1" commercial...

    The colours in the restaurant is bright/attractive and it is film in the day.The background is very bright and it feels grand and famous.The restaurants boss is not skinny and making him cute.The accent that the indian guy used is alittle funny but it feels alittle insulting to the indian race.The words he say also leaves a deep impression to many people that watched the advertisement.The indian guy also uses body language to express his disbeliefs.

  3. The person in the video wear matching colour shirt the slang he use is very indian. He show alot of impression to others that watch the advertisement.

  4. This video is about comedy. The shirt that the 'gangsters' wear is very colourful, striking. They emphasize on the word 'Anything& Whatever' so that the customers could notice their products. The owner of the shop gave money, toilet papers etc, as he thought the gangsters are coming for money. They are trying to make the commercial funny, to attract people to buy their products. The name of the products is also easy to remember. 'Anything&Whatever.'

  6. they use the word 'any taste for any thirst' to show other that the drink they showing have alot of different flavour.
    they use the can colour to show that which is carbonated dink and non-carbonated drink whick prove that the whatever is a non-carbonated drink and anything is a carbonated drink .Because its a new drink so not many shops have it so it also want the seller to sell it to other.

  7. -The colour of the commercial is bright. The two customer's main objective was to buy a can drink name anything and whatever,but the cashier don't seem to understand what they want.One of the customer dress very casually and striking,both of them have tatoo which would mislead the cashier to think that they are gangsters.
    -The size of the commercial is accpetable. As it is small and can be seen easily.
    -The director used a very creative story line which is mostly seen in singapore the common attitude ;D

  8. 1)The colours are bold and some colour are dark. The main discribe himself as a happy person.

    2) The positioning of the video is within the frame so that people can see the video clearly.

    3)There is dialogue in the commercial and funny. The title is easy to read. The title is usually come out at the end of the video. The video product is not that persuasuve.

    4) The way they advertise this commercial is very nice and funny.

They use jokes to make this ad more imtersting and attractive.The background colour is quite bright.The shirts of the two man colour is related to the drink can.The ad was trying to grab people's attention .The two people are asking the cashier in an impatient tone,to catch people attention.
